By Vegas standards, 2026 is shaping up to be a relatively quiet year. (So quiet, we’re already skipping ahead to the wild stuff 

.) But a few projects are keeping the new year interesting.

 resort on the Strip isn’t opening until 2027, but the guitar-shaped hotel tower is coming along nicely and will reshape the skyline before the year is over. Meanwhile, the Cromwell is rebranding itself as the 

with a full makeover under the direction of TV star and restaurateur Lisa Vanderpump. (A reality show about any young, dumb, willing, and able employees is on my 

). Over in Henderson, Boyd Gaming is opening 

 next to Joker’s Wild (which will close and reopen after a renovation of its own).

🤠 Luke Combs is giving the Strip another country bar when 

 takes over the old Margaritaville space as part of an ongoing property-wide revamp at the Flamingo. And if you want less country and more EDM in your life, 

 should be ready in time for pool season in front of Caesars Palace.

 is shifting away from its “locals-focused” reputation and embracing tourists with a towering three-story location inside the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood. 

, is returning from the dead at the Horseshoe.

 opened a year ago on the Strip, but doesn’t have much buzz or activity for something so big and shiny. That should change in 2026 as new bars and restaurants begin to make the third level more of a destination spot, beginning with the recently unveiled 

 in Vegas, it may be more cost-effective to 

 later this year. Zoox is already active at AREA15 and we’re excited to see the art and entertainment attraction 

, especially with the long-promised arrival of the 

🏆 The A’s stadium still has a few years to go (and some financing to finalize), but the team will actually 

 this summer at the Las Vegas Ballpark in Downtown Summerlin. While not as high profile as the Final Four in college basketball, the 

 comes to Las Vegas for the first time to determine the best in college hockey at the T-Mobile Arena. A different kind of sport — the

When it comes to nationwide corporate campaigns, Small Business Saturday is one of my favorites. Taking place the day after Black Friday each year, the concept was actually

According to Yelp, Nevada has the second-best pumpkin patch in the United States. Here’s the downside: 

 🙃 So how do the options stack up in Southern Nevada? We’ve got picks.

 harvests seasonal produce year-round, but fall is the busiest time of year for the 60-acre operation in the Northwest Valley. The general public is invited to pick pumpkins off the vine and apples from trees. You can snip fresh sunflowers too. It gets so busy, a 

 is in place. (Use it to avoid getting turned away at the gates.) No visit is complete without an order of farm-fresh apple cider, which is also used to make doughnuts smothered in cinnamon sugar and cream cheese frosting.

Located just down the street from Gilcrease Orchard, 

 does incredible work as an animal sanctuary, opening the doors for tours and a market on weekends. The annual Farm Fall Harvest Festival is in full swing with a variety of pumpkins, including some you might not see elsewhere. Shop for pumpkins, jams, pies, eggs harvested on-site, and more — and challenge yourself with the “amazing maize maze.”

, located in Henderson at the Cowabunga Bay waterpark, is more like a Midwest carnival than a traditional pumpkin patch. You and the kids will cover a lot of ground, from a ferris wheel and other rides to all the caramel apples and funnel cake you can handle. Choose a pumpkin from among dozens of varieties and decorate it on the spot before heading home.

 leans heavily into seasonal spooky-themed carnival fun with four valleywide locations: Centennial Hills, Silverado Ranch, the Southwest (on Rainbow), and Summerlin between Boca Park and Tivoli Village. These are the best pumpkin patches for young kids with a variety of games, rides, and treats to keep ‘em occupied for hours.

 is on a working farm, just 60 miles outside Las Vegas amongst the colorful scenery of Logandale. About 10,000 pumpkins a year are grown on site with attractions that mix autumn-themed fun with Halloween scares. Daytime corn mazes and activities are more family friendly, while things get a little wild after dark — so don’t panic if you see somebody running around with a chainsaw. Through it all, make sure to hop on board a hay ride, experience zombie paintball, and take a few shots with the corn cannon.

UnCommons has a new weekend fall festival this year — the 

, where guests are welcome to buy, paint, and even bowl pumpkins 🎳 There’s also live music and Halloween movies on select nights (which require a separate RSVP to secure a space).

 covers nearly three acres near the Silverton casinos, welcoming guests daily to check out the pumpkin selection and feed the animals who live on site. Kids and teens will be especially fond of the pony rides, train, corn maze, snacks, and face painting.

Thrift store shopping is one of my favorite ways to unwind. I like to think the pastime draws on a primal foraging instinct. While roaming the aisles of Savers looking for etched glass and denim, I'm channeling some ancient ancestor whose keen eyes spotted edible leaves and berries. You reach a kind of zen state — zoned out but also alert to potential gems hidden behind a hideous gnome figurine or beneath a ‘90s prom dress.

If you're nodding along, you’ll appreciate that April is chock full of vintage and antique shopping events (I suspect it's a combination of good weather and anticipation for

Former Nevada Lieutenant Governor Lonnie Hammargren was legendary in Las Vegas for his house of eccentricities, which included Liberace's staircase and an airplane full of mannequins. The house was sold in 2017 and Hammargren died in 2023, but many of the wonders remain. It’s worth stopping by just to get a peek at the collection!

Antique Mall of America 20th Anniversary Sale

The massive 43,000-square-foot antique warehouse on North Las Vegas Boulevard is holding a sale outdoors in the parking lot. It’s the “everything goes” of vintage shopping. You'll find turquoise jewelry, classic vinyl, creepy dolls, and other intriguing items.

If a curated selection of vintage and modern goods is more your cup of tea, head to The Lawn at Downtown Summerlin for an outdoor fair. Vendors sell handmade Westernwear, lovely floral fabrics, china teacups, build-your-own succulent gardens, and more. Tickets required 🎟️

) will be popping up downtown for her annual Sip & Shop, curating her favorite finds at Buffalo Exchange. The first 15 attendees receive a free goodie bag and a raffle ticket for gift cards.

This event is a personal favorite — it's such a treasure hunt. Sun City is our largest active adults community, and these retirees have been all over the world. Last year, I found Danish pottery and brass candlesticks for less than $10 each 👀

This new event takes over the 3rd Street block outside the Downtown Grand near Fremont Street. The vendors will focus on collectibles with a retro touch, from records to antique furniture and handmade crafts. Such a great way to enjoy the sunny spring weather Downtown!
