In April, City Cast Las Vegas invited all qualified mayoral candidates to respond to a questionnaire so that our readers could get to know them a little better. All candidates were sent the same questions, and given a 600 character-count limit. As you'll see, some questions are a little more policy-oriented and some are a little more fun!

1. What is the single most pressing issue facing the City of Las Vegas? Why?
"Public Safety. Crime is rising. Residents must feel safe in order to enjoy everything this fine city has to offer."
2. Why is the Mayor of Las Vegas an important role for everyone living in the Valley?
"The Las Vegas Mayor's office is the biggest bully pulpit in Nevada. One word from a popular and effective Mayor can shape the perspective of most residents in the Valley."

"Properly registered Buskers can enhance the experience of Fremont Street for residents and visitors, alike."
4. Should the Tesla tunnels expand to the City of Las Vegas?
"Yes. The Tunnels can help ease traffic congestion and make Las Vegas more accessible to tourists."
5. What’s your position on rent control?
"As Mayor, I will greatly increase the amount of accessible, affordable housing. I am open to a citywide referendum on the issue of Rent Control."

"The 'infinity symbol' which epitomizes Imagination and endless possibilities."
7. What was Carolyn Goodman’s greatest accomplishment as mayor?
"Her efforts to revitalize downtown Las Vegas."
8. What’s the best meal you’ve ever had in Las Vegas?
"Soup made by Crystal Ball CEO of Zen's Kitchen, and organization that feeds the homeless as a means of engaging individuals to determine the best way to help them change their circumstances."
