The World's 50 Best Restaurants, a prestigious ranking of global culinary destinations, comes to Las Vegas with an awards ceremony and series of events — some officially affiliated, some not.

So What's This All About?

The World's 50 Best Restaurants has been around since 2002. The organization is based in the United Kingdom, but compiles a worldwide series of rankings based on votes by more than 3,000 experts in dining, drinks, and travel.

The Awards Ceremony

The World's 50 Best Restaurants will be revealed during a ceremony inside the Wynn's Encore Theater on June 5. The rankings have notoriously overlooked Vegas over the years, so it will be interesting (and possibly awkward) to see if this year's host city gets snubbed. As a teaser, a list of 51-100 best restaurants was released earlier this month with zero Vegas representation.

Revelry

The Wynn is going all out, hosting Revelry, a series of culinary events to coincide with the World's 50 Best Restaurants. Some highlights:

  • An international collaboration of Wynn chefs team up for an East Meets Best dinner of Asian cuisine at Wing Lei June 5.
  • Joshua Smith of Delilah invites Michael Symon of Mabel's BBQ to join forces for a Mediterranean dinner June 7.
  • The Feast is a grand finale dine-around outdoors at the Wynn Event Pavilion June 8.

Indulge

Resorts World is getting in on the act with the Indulge lineup of dining experiences. Our top picks:

  • A pop-up preview of Stubborn Seed by “Top Chef” winner Jeremy Ford at Allē on June 4.
  • A collaboration between Brezza's Nicole Brisson and Viva's Roy Garcia June 6.
  • A Camphor steak frites pop-up at RedTail (one of the more affordable options at $65 per person) June 6-7.

The Best of the Rest

  • London chef Tomos Parry of Bratt joins James Trees of Esther’s Kitchen for a special lunch in the Arts District on June 3.
  • Tetsuya Wakuda teams up with Enrique Olvera of Mexico City's Pujol for a cross-cultural dinner at Wakuda inside the Venetian June 3.
  • Chef Alain Ducasse, whose Le Louis XV in Monaco is widely considered one of the best dining destinations in the world, returns to his Vegas restaurant, Rivea at the Delano, with Chef Jean-Philippe Blondet for a reception and six-course dinner with wine pairings June 4.
  • The Vault, a secretive cocktail lounge at the Bellagio, welcomes New York bartenders Sebastian Tollius of Eleven Madison Park, Jonathan Adler of Shinji’s, and Takuma Watanabe June 4

Culinary entrepreneur Jolene Mannina, one of the organizers behind this year's 50 Best, talks with us about the hottest chefs you need to know about in Vegas right now. [City Cast Las Vegas 🎧]
