Thanks to the not-so-recent invention of the wheel, you can bring a good meal anywhere in Las Vegas — kitchen included. Our city is a land of food trucks, which make appearances at festivals like First Friday, businesses like Khoury’s Fine Wine & Spirits, and all points in between. Keep your eyes peeled for some of our favorites:
🔥 Hibachi Done Wright has a reliable location across from the Palms in a dispensary parking lot. Line up for grilled meats with garlic buttered rice and vegetables.
😋 Soulful Eatery is a favorite of producer Layla Muhammad. The truck serves classic soul food, from greens to catfish, seasoned to perfection. Try the “mystery lemonade,” which seems to have a peach flavor.
🍕 Signora Pizza is a custom food truck, built from a 20-foot shipping container with glass windows and wood-fired oven. Chef Floriana Pastore imports most of her ingredients for perfectly charred Neapolitan-style pizzas.
🐟 Ole Manny’s Seafood Shack, a top pick from co-host Dayvid Figler, is the latest venture by Manny Tenorio, formerly the brains and talent behind Bajamar Seafood & Tacos. Try his original take on fish-filled tacos, burritos, and ceviche.
🍍 Taqueria El Pastorcito II, a favorite of executive producer Sonja Cho Swanson, has a regular location on Charleston and 17th, featuring marinated meats, sliced to order. She loves the taco al pastor con piña (with pineapple) and isn’t shy about raiding the condiments bar, loaded with salsas, pickles, limes, and radishes.
🍛 Oming's Kitchen serves Filipino-style rice bowls with pork or chicken, marinated and grilled in a house sauce by chef Salome Pilas. The lumpia (fried spring rolls) are packed with pork and vegetables. The business started as a food truck before opening brick and mortar locations in Mountain’s Edge and east of the Strip.
🐷 Huli Huli Grill says “aloha” to customers with brined Hawaiian-style chicken, rotisserie-cooked over mesquite wood for a bold, smoky flavor. The food truck also serves breaded and fried mochiko chicken and Filipino-inspired lechon (pork belly stuffed with lemongrass and herbs).
🌮 Birrieria Dimas specializes in tacos filled with Mexican beef birria, roasted for up to six hours in a house consomé. The menu also includes ramen for a fun mix of concepts.
