The Best Pizza in Vegas

Don’t be surprised to find yourself craving pizza this November. The Las Vegas Pizza Festival returns to The Industrial event space on November 16 with at least 19 local favorites serving slices. You can also take a bite of Emmy Squared Pizza, which debuts in Las Vegas November 8 as part of Swingers, a 21-and-over mini-golf course at Mandalay Bay. And did you know that an election is one of the busiest nights of the year for pizza deliveries and takeaway orders? With that in mind, we decided to round up a list of our favorite pizza joints in town.

🍕 Metro Pizza is run by New York native John Arena, the godfather of the local Las Vegas pizza scene for decades. The menu is based on New York specialties but covers a variety of regions. Place an order at one of four locations throughout the valley or grab a slice from counters at Ellis Island and the airport.

🍕 Yukon Pizza in the revitalized Huntridge Shopping Center has an addictive dough, made with an heirloom sourdough starter that’s more than 125 years old. Look for a few more surprises on the menu, including an awesome smash burger 🍔

🍕 Good Pie has been an Arts District hit for years and recently opened a second location in Henderson. Owner Vincent Rotolo uses temperature, moisture levels, and other tricks to get the dough just right — like a mad scientist. You can’t go wrong with the signature Grandma pizza with the tomato sauce drizzled on top instead of buried underneath.

🍕 Full disclosure: Brooklyn’s Best is my wife’s top choice for pizza in Las Vegas. She loves the White Pie with dollops of ricotta on top (and the meatballs on the side). I tend to go with the Grandma-style pie. Order from locations in Downtown and the West Valley.

🍕 Love a charred crust? Settebello nails a perfect Neapolitan-style pizza with dough rolled by hand for perfectly imperfect circles. The pizzas are cooked inside a brick oven built with volcanic sand from Mt. Vesuvius and topped with ingredients from the best California and European farms. Settebello has locations at The District in Green Valley Ranch and Village Square near Summerlin.

🍕 Monzú, just west of the Strip, is a higher-end Italian restaurant, serving up pizzas with a unique starter made from local peaches and a strain from Ischia that’s more than a hundred years old. Chef Gio Mauro also runs Old School Pizzeria, which is more geared towards delivery and takeout with three locations in different corners of the valley.

🍕 Award-winning pizza king Tony Gemignani is serving up a wide variety of recipes at Pizza Rock in Downtown (near Fremont Street) or Henderson (inside the Green Valley Ranch casino). Both locations have at least four different types of ovens.

🍕 Double Zero Pie & Pub in Chinatown has boxes for leftovers, but doesn’t officially offer to-go or takeaway orders. Yet it’s so good, I have to recommend it — and you may want to pull yourself away from the TV for an hour or two on Election night anyway. Michael Vakneen has mastered a progressive take on classic wood-fired Neapolitan pizzas with a variety of carefully sourced ingredients. The chef also serves traditional New York-style classics at Pop Up Pizza at the Plaza — and yes, you can do pickup and delivery here.

🍕 If you live near Anthem, Seven Hills, or Inspirada, Rebellion Pizza has soft and chewy, hand-tossed New York-style pies.

🍕 Both the pizza dough and focaccia bread at Amari use the 25-year-old ancient grain (einkorn wheat) starter for a nice, chewy bite. The restaurant is one of the best reasons to visit UnCommons in the Southwest Valley.
