Irina Hansen, a Las Vegas real estate agent and small business owner, answers our questions below.

In April, City Cast Las Vegas invited all qualified mayoral candidates to respond to a questionnaire so that our readers could get to know them a little better. All candidates were sent the same questions, and given a 600 character-count limit. As you'll see, some questions are a little more policy-oriented and some are a little more fun!

Read the rest of the questionnaire responses here.

1. What is the single most pressing issue facing the City of Las Vegas? Why?

"Transparency, accountability and oversight.' (TAO) The urgency of addressing accountability, transparency, and oversight in Las Vegas stems from the fact that all crises are encompassed by these principles.

"The current crises we face result from misallocation of funds, which should be directed towards addressing issues such as homelessness, public safety, and the economy in Las Vegas. All issues fall under the umbrella of 'TAO'"

2. Why is the Mayor of Las Vegas an important role for everyone living in the Valley?

"The Mayor of Las Vegas plays a crucial role for everyone living in the Valley because they are responsible for overseeing the city's governance, policies, and initiatives.

"As the leader of the city, the Mayor's decisions and actions directly impact the daily lives of residents in areas such as public safety, infrastructure, economic development, and community services. Mayor's leadership and vision significantly impact the well-being and future of everyone living in the Valley."

3. Buskers at the Fremont Street Experience: yea or nay?

"Yes. It keeps Vegas , VEGAS! I love it!"

4. Should the Tesla tunnels expand to the City of Las Vegas?

"Not needed. Wasteful spending. Unnecessary."

5. What’s your position on rent control?

"I stand opposed. Its government overreach, burdensome to property owners, and it would have a disastrous effect on the housing industry. The only rental control I will support, is rental control for properties owned by the government."

6. Oscar Goodman has the martini glass. What would your mayoral trademark be?

"Red, White and Blue Stiletto heel."

7. What was Carolyn Goodman’s greatest accomplishment as mayor?

"One of Mayor Carolyn Goodman's significant accomplishments during her tenure in office in Las Vegas was her leadership in driving economic diversification and development initiatives. She actively promoted efforts to attract new businesses, industries, and investments to the city, contributing to its growth and prosperity."

8. What’s the best meal you’ve ever had in Las Vegas?

"Sushi"
