It’s holiday season, a time to gather office mates, friends, and relatives together to celebrate the year — or fuel up on spiked eggnog while exchanging gifts that will mostly go forgotten after your Uber ride home. With that in mind, you gotta at least get the food right. So bookmark this list of Vegas restaurants that are perfect for large parties —- during the holidays or any time of year.
I checked out Happy Camper a few weeks ago and couldn’t help but notice all the large parties in the dining room. Located on the east side of Fashion Show mall, the restaurant has a casual menu with pizza and other shareable options, so groups young and old can enjoy the views and get a “Strip experience” without breaking the bank.
This new restaurant is inside the new Illumina on Raiders Way, reflecting the growth of the booming West Henderson neighborhood. It has a charming atmosphere with quirky artwork and an unusually large private dining room, Lexie's Hideaway, near an open kitchen. There’s also a centralized bar and extra seats on a patio overlooking the pool for when the weather warms back up.
There are a few Brazilian steakhouse chains out there, but I’m partial to Via Brasil, a local favorite that gets everything right. There’s plenty of room and the format takes the complications out of ordering for large groups. Fresh-sliced meats, chicken, and fish are served to order from staff members roaming the dining room. Sides, salads, and desserts are part of a buffet.
A longtime fixture inside the Forum Shops at Caesars, Carmine’s is HUGE, with multiple dining rooms and classic, familiar red-sauce Italian American staples that won’t catch anyone off guard. Portions are large too, making family-style sharing easy.
For a loose, social gathering of friends, Taps & Barrels is a great choice in the new Evora community in the Southwest Valley. There are board games and other activities to keep you busy while munching on food that’s shareable and affordable. Self-serve drafts serve a variety of beer and even a little bit of wine and sake.
This old-school steakhouse is a locals favorite with perfectly charred cuts of beef and cocktails that rival the legendary drink list at sister concept Herbs & Rye. Multiple dining rooms throughout the cavernous space can accommodate parties large and small.
Blue Diamond’s only restaurant is a charming family-owned spot that eagerly accommodates large parties for wood-fired pizzas and panini sandwiches. When the weather warms up, request the patio and enjoy the fresh mountain air.
Eat, drink, drive golf balls. The concept at Topgolf is simple, but the platters make it easy to share — especially the iconic pretzel board — and everyone is welcome to order their own drinks with multiple bars throughout the attraction’s four levels.
This locals’ favorite south of the Strip has plenty of tables in the main dining room — and an affection for old-school lounge music — to enjoy lasagna, spaghetti, and more. Need extra space? Book the Vegas Room (20-50 guests) or Copa Room (50-250 guests).
Here’s another place that mixes food and sports. The newly opened Chicken N Pickle in Henderson has indoor and outdoor pickleball courts, surrounded by a variety of dining spaces, from a rooftop deck to a backyard patio by a dog park. There’s a Sunday brunch buffet that’s tailor-made for large parties to serve themselves. As expected, the lightly breaded chicken tenders are delicious.
