Valentine’s Day is just two weeks away — time to settle on your plans, make your reservations. Sure, Valentine’s Day possibly originated from a decapitation or two, but you needn’t lose your head trying to decide where to dine. Assuming the Boulevard will be a post-Super Bowl nuthouse, we’ve compiled this list of our favorite off-Strip date-night restaurants.

There's plenty to love here — it’s French, it’s lakeside at Desert Shores, the wine shop totals 900-plus labels, culinary hotshot Bradley Ogden is running the kitchen. Your sig other will get melty.

Specifically the Henderson location, where it’s all about a view of the valley that practically compels hand-holding. “It's a little loud,” says City Cast producer Layla Muhammad, “but if you sit by the window at night the view is worth it.” Can 100% confirm.

“Vetri at The Palms has an amazing view and beautiful food,” says award-winning local food writer Kim Foster. “The bar is also nice for a bite and a cocktail. But it’s the views that make this place special — total panorama of the valley. Special and memorable. Definitely a proposal restaurant.”

“Look, you won’t write home about the food at Chicago Joe’s — but the ambience is picture-perfect,” says our executive producer Sonja Cho Swanson. “Think red-checkered tablecloths à la ‘Lady and the Tramp,’ glowing sconces, and multicolored Christmas lights: All the ingredients for an unfussy warmth and intimacy. I think Chicago Joe’s is best delivered as a surprise, because walking into the glowing dining room inside a tiny brick house downtown is such a delight.”

When I asked readers for their suggestions, this western Henderson Italian joint got the most nominations. Maybe it’s the subdued, elegant vibe — “nice for a date night or intimate evening,” one Yelper writes — or the well-done classic Italian food; if you go on Valentine’s Day, note that there’s a special menu.
