, and accountability is another. We want to have podcast guests who are diverse in race and ethnicity, gender, economic background, and geography. Tracking and publicizing guest demographics is a way to hold us accountable for representing the diversity of Las Vegas.

So are we living up to our values? How diverse is our podcast guest pool, really?

This is the third year of data we have about City Cast Las Vegas guests. (

.) We ask each of our City Cast Las Vegas podcast guests a few questions about their gender identity, racial/ethnic identity, and neighborhood. About 80% of guests responded in 2025. The following data encompass a total of 74 guests who appeared on the podcast between Nov. 1, 2024 and Dec. 31, 2025.. (We did not count City Cast Las Vegas staffers who appeared on the podcast.)

We then used census data to compare our podcast guests to the broader Las Vegas city and metro population. This helps us see how well we’re reflecting the community we’re serving.

City Cast Las Vegas had about the same percentage of guests who are Black and Asian-American as the community. But we had more white guests and fewer Hispanic/Latinx guests than you’d expect. Only 7% of City Cast Las Vegas guests were Hispanic/Latinx, down from 13% in 2024, and well below the 30% of city and region residents who are Hispanic.

We also asked about gender identity. A 54% majority of our guests identified as female, with 46% identifying as male.

The following data encompass a total of 90 responding guests who appeared on the podcast between Nov. 1, 2023 and Oct. 31, 2024. (We did not count City Cast Las Vegas staffers who appeared on the podcast.)

But we had more white guests and fewer Hispanic/Latinx guests than you’d expect. About 13% of City Cast Las Vegas guests were Hispanic/Latinx, up from 9% in 2023, but still well below the 30% of city and region residents who are Hispanic.

We also asked about gender identity. A 53% majority of our guests identified as male, with 47% identifying as female.

The Republican is a former Las Vegas City Council member (including a run as Mayor Pro Tem) and is currently suspended as Nye County Justice of the Peace.

Prosecutors argued that Fiore raised money through her campaign and political action committee for a statue honoring fallen Metro officer Alyn Beck, but dipped into those funds to cover 

rent, plastic surgery, and her daughter’s wedding

During the trial, the jury heard from Governor Joe Lombardo (whose campaign for sheriff donated $5,000 to the fund) and Fiore’s daughter, Sheena Siegel, whose testimony was stricken after repeatedly pleading the Fifth.

Fiore herself weighed taking the stand, but declined after conferring with the judge.

Jurors heard closing arguments on Thursday morning and reached a verdict in less than two hours.

It took a Las Vegas jury more than 11 hours over three days to find former Clark County public administrator Robert Telles 

 in the death of Las Vegas Review-Journal investigative reporter Jeff German.

The decision followed three days of testimony by Telles himself, which took place against the advice of his attorneys.

We ask each of our City Cast Las Vegas podcast guests a few questions about their gender identity, racial/ethnic identity, and neighborhood. About 95% of guests responded in 2023. The following data encompass a total of 129 responding guests who collectively made 245 podcast appearances from Nov. 1, 2022 through Nov. 9, 2023. (We did not count City Cast Las Vegas staffers who appeared on the podcast.)

We then used census data to compare our podcast guests to the broader city population. This helps us see how well we’re reflecting the community we’re serving.

As you can see in the chart, City Cast Las Vegas’s guests mirrored the population in some ways but not in others. We had about the same percentage of guests who are Black, Asian-American, and Pacific Islanders as the community. But we had more white guests and fewer Hispanic/Latinx guests than you’d expect. Only 9% of City Cast Las Vegas guests were Hispanic/Latinx, compared to more than 30% for the city and region.

There are understandable reasons for this shortfall: Many Hispanics and Latinx people are immigrants, and immigrant communities are traditionally hard for journalists outside those communities to access. Some may not consume much English-language media. As a result, Hispanic/Latinx residents of Las Vegas may be less likely to know City Cast Las Vegas and be part of the community we’re building. But we need to keep pushing to get more excellent Hispanic/Latinx guests on City Cast Las Vegas.

We also asked about gender identity. A 53% majority of our guests identified as female, with 47% identifying as male and 1% identifying as non-binary.
