What Las Vegas's Talking About

⚖️ Lawsuit Over ICE Appealed

The American Civil Liberties Union of Nevada is continuing to fight for information about how the Las Vegas Metro Police works with ICE. Attorneys want the Nevada Supreme Court to consider whether an agreement between the federal agency and the police is legal, after the ACLU says LVMPD handed over one of their clients. [KVVU]

❤️ Overdose Deaths Are Down, Treatment Is Up

The Southern Nevada Health District has some good news to share: Overdose deaths decreased 20% between August 2024-August 2025. Health officials attribute the change to more intervention resources, including getting test strips and naloxone into more people’s hands. [Nevada Current]

💰Another Texting Scam Is Here

Yes, there’s another new scam targeting Las Vegans. Text messages pretending to be from the Clark County District Court or the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles are threatening people with jail time if they don’t pay fictitious parking tickets. Local officials warn that the scammers usually ask for a pre-paid credit card after getting a response. [KLAS]

🦟 Get Out Your Bug Spray!

The warmer than normal March weather means mosquitoes are already here, Vegas. That’s several weeks ahead of schedule, which prompted health district officials to set their mosquito traps early. [Las Vegas Review-Journal]
