What Las Vegas's Talking About

🐶 Warrant Issued in Dog Ditching Case

Remember the woman accused of abandoning a dog at the airport while trying to board a flight? Well, she missed her court date and now a warrant is out for her arrest. Someone claiming to be a family member called the judge, saying the woman is currently in a hospital out of state. [KLAS]

🪧 ‘No Kings’ Protesters Billed $24,000

Freedom isn’t free — especially if you plan to protest. Indivisible Las Vegas, the official organizer behind last week’s local “No Kings” protest – was handed a $24,000 bill to cover a permit, liability insurance, police, an ambulance, and barricades in front of the federal courthouse. Unlike cities like Reno, Las Vegas doesn’t have designated “free speech zones” to gather in public. [Nevada Current]

🤑 Caesars Rides the ‘All-Inclusive’ Bandwagon

Las Vegas loves a trend — and Caesars Entertainment is now the latest company offering all-inclusive Strip-cations. The deal starts at $200 per night for a room at Harrah’s, The LINQ, or Flamingo, plus two meals a day, bottomless booze, parking, and yes, the resort fee. You also get tickets for the High Roller observation wheel. [KSNV]

🏈 New Quarterback Signed, Another On the Way

The Raiders are broken, but we can rebuild them. New coach Klint Kubiak is getting the process off to a good start by signing quarterback Kirk Cousins. The four-time Pro Bowler will make a guaranteed $20 million in his first year alone — which is a little more than what I make writing this newsletter. [ESPN]

  • The Raiders have first dibs in the upcoming NFL draft — and are expected to score a second star quarterback in Fernando Mendoza, who continued to impress during Indiana's pro day. [KTNV]

The Vegas Golden Knights are in a rebuilding phase too. City Cast Las Vegas talks about the team’s new coach, plus a pop-up casino at the Tropicana site and a Congresswoman’s foul language in the latest Friday news roundup. [City Cast Las Vegas 🎧]
