April has more to offer than taxes and tariffs. It’s a busy month with fun in the sun, spring activities, and a surprisingly high number of food festivals 😋 So don’t play the April fool. Check out our top picks for Vegas events and activities this month.
🇺🇲 Aviation Nation
Experience first-hand the military might that keeps America safe and Greenland on edge. Aviation Nation, the largest free air show in Southern Nevada, takes flight in the skies above Nellis Air Force Base April 5-6. You’ll see the Thunderbirds, a mix of modern and vintage aircraft, a new mixed-reality game by the U.S. Navy, and more. The event is free, but VIP tickets are available with all sorts of food and perks. Park at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway and take a shuttle from there. Gates open at 10 a.m.

🏜️ The Great Outdoors
April is when the weather isn’t too hot or too cold (although the wind remains a crap shoot). You’re just a short drive from Zion, Grand Canyon, and Death Valley, all waiving admission fees on April 19 to kick off National Park Week. You can even head up to Ely to visit Great Basin and see the world’s oldest trees 👀 Closer to home, the Lake Mead National Recreation Area will celebrate the spirit of volunteerism and Earth Day that same week with Love Lake Mead Days to have fun while cleaning up trash and graffiti.
👙 Poolside Playtime
Pool season has arrived and you don’t have to be a hotel guest to score a good deal. Locals get free admission to Kassi Beach Club at Virgin Hotels throughout the season and at the Downtown Grand’s rooftop Citrus Grand Pool Deck on Industry Mondays through at least April. The Palms Pool goes even further, offering locals a free cabana Monday-Thursday.
🤖Science & Tech
Registration opens at 7 a.m. this morning for the annual Las Vegas Science & Technology Festival. The nine-day event begins April 25 with free activities for the kiddos all over the valley, tapping into how cool stuff works, from the Bellagio fountains to hospital robots.
