St. Patrick’s Day is a deeply revered and religious holiday in Ireland. It honors St. Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland, who is said to have driven the snakes away and used the shamrock to symbolize the holy trinity.

Irish immigrants helped turn St. Patrick’s Day into a more secular, party-centric celebration in the United States, especially in Boston, New York, and Chicago. Las Vegas isn’t far behind at this point — and with the March 17 holiday falling on a Monday this year, we’re ready to dress in green, drink beer, and wolf down plates stacked with corned beef and cabbage. Pace yourself. Lots of events are unfolding throughout the valley over the next few days.

St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations in Las Vegas

🎡 Henderson welcomes the 57th annual Sons and Daughters of Erin St. Patrick's Festival at the Water Street Plaza over three days (March 14-16). Enjoy entertainment, food, carnival rides, whiskey tastings 👀, and more, including a parade on Saturday at 10 a.m. and car show Sunday, beginning at 8 a.m.

🥳 Nevada Brew Works has a St. Patrick’s Day party, beginning at 11 a.m. on March 15, featuring green beer, flights, and Jameson shots. It coincides with Market in the Alley across the street, showcasing local vendors 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.

🍺 The Downtown Container Park hosts Sham-Rock the Park, 6 - 9 p.m. on March 15. Tickets begin at $40 for all-you-can-drink beer and cider — Irish brands, of course — and live music by the Roxy Gunn Project.

🧑‍🦲 The St. Baldrick’s Foundation returns to the Brooklyn Bridge outside New York-New York on March 16 for the annual tradition of shaving heads for a good cause — a spectacle that’s free to watch with fanfare and celebrity guests. Come to the same spot a day earlier for the Celtic Feis festival. Tickets begin at $21.80 and include access to a parade, music, and food and drink specials by Nine Fine Irishmen.

🎉 The Professional Firefighters of Nevada Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade begins at noon on March 17 in front of Hogs & Heifers before marching through Downtown. Afterwards, firefighters will represent their departments in a series of physical competitions.
