Admit it. You could go for a good taco right now. Fortunately, artists and taco enthusiasts Brent Holmes and Justin Favela shared some of their top picks with City Cast Las Vegas. A few highlights …
🌮 Guisos de el Canelo, a small cart on Pecos and Charleston, scores points for fresh-pressed flour tortillas and rolling a hefty amount of ingredients in each taco.
🌮 Antojitos D.F. is a true hidden gem, tucked away inside a gas station on Flamingo and Pecos. Don’t be afraid to try a taco with huitlacoche, a flavorful corn fungus that’s similar to a mushroom.
🌮 The original Tacos Tijuana at Broadacres Marketplace (an outdoor flea market in North Las Vegas) has incredible tripe tacos, giving the main ingredient (the stomach lining from a cow) the right amount of crispiness. (Bonus: Broadacres is also home to Carnitas El Cunado, which specializes in slow-simmered pork tacos.)
🌮 As the name suggests, Mariscos Playa Escondida near Charleston and Maryland is all about seafood. Try the swordfish taco and thank us later.
🌮 Another bonus pick: Producer Layla Muhammad highly recommends Birria El Compa, which has locations east of Downtown on Charleston and west of the Strip on Valley View and Desert Inn. Try the delicious beef birria tacos and get a free side of the amazing fried beans when dining in.
