Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Kelly Clarkson, and The Weeknd are all coming to Las Vegas this month, but July is about more than pop music on big stages. You get to celebrate America — with fireworks throughout Southern Nevada — and have fun with the following events and activities 🇺🇲
🎞️ Movie Marathon
There’s something extra special about seeing a movie at the height of summer. (Maybe it has something to do with the air conditioning 🤔) The Beverly Theater is experimenting with random choose-your-own pricing while looking ahead to a loaded month that includes “2001: A Space Odyssey,” “Ran,” “American Psycho,” and more. You can also relive rock mockumentary “This Is Spinal Tap” on big screens around Vegas (while getting a preview of an upcoming sequel) and continue to check out poolside movies after dark at The M Resort, Cosmopolitan, and Fontainebleau.
🍽️ Last Call for Restaurant Faves
July is the last full month for The X Pot before the restaurant closes for an extensive renovation. The restaurant puts a fine-dining spin on Chinese hot pots and is offering special tasting menus for unlimited Wagyu and live seafood. For tapas lovers, there’s a little more time to enjoy the final days of EDO. The Spanish restaurant closes in September and chef Oscar Amador plans to reinvent the space as a new concept. Meanwhile, the pastaRAMEN pop-up at Resorts World wraps up its run, which was extended through July 12.
⛹️ The Wide World of Sports
It’s too hot to play anything yourself, so leave the sports to the professionals.
- 🏀 Basketball fans can watch the Las Vegas Aces pursue another WNBA championship and catch rising stars at the Thomas & Mack and Cox Pavillion during the NBA Summer League tournaments July 10-20.
- ⚾ The Las Vegas Aviators play a series of home games at the Las Vegas Ballpark, which also hosts the Battle for Vegas charity softball game on July 12.
- 🏈 Alumni from the 1985 Super Bowl champion Chicago Bears will reunite at Amore Taste of Chicago July 26-27.
- 🏆 The Hall of Excellence is open at the Fontainebleau in affiliation with Tom Brady, showing off sports memorabilia along with some surprises (like Oprah Winfrey’s Presidential Medal of Freedom).
🎸 Tributes to Music Icons
Bob Marley Hope Road is in soft opening mode at Mandalay Bay, bringing together special effects, elaborate set pieces, and live Jamaican performers for a reggae tribute with a must-see 3D-enhanced finale. The Westgate is going all out for 1969 Live Concert: The King Returns, recreating the opening night of Elvis Presley’s 1969 Vegas residency, from the setlist to the costumes and instruments — plus retro ticket prices 🤑 The resort will also have tours of the Imperial Sky Villa (the penthouse perch where Elvis used to live), themed food and drink around the property, and classic films screening overnight in the Super Book.
